Card Making Instructions
To begin you need a sheet of scrap card which measures 5 inch by 7 inch. You are going to create your template with this, so it really does not matter if it is covered in ink, glue or split tea. It just saves you damaging the actual card you are going to use if you are not happy with your placement. Trust me I did it wrong a few times when I was working out measurements.
You also want a scrap of card or paper which you can use to cut out a circle with a diameter of 4 3/8th inch. Fold this in half vertically and in half horizontally. Where these folds cross use something sharp ( I used die poky tool) to create a tiny hole
Make a tpencil mark on the large sheet of scrap at 1 2/8th inch from the top, roughly in the centre and line your circle up so the top edge touches this mark and the circle looks pretty centred on the card. Once happy pencil around the circle and add the split pin to secure the 2 together.
Cut another circle ( this is the one you will use) and swap it with the one you have been using as a template. Use you poky tool first to make a small hole before trying to push the split pin through.
Place this to one side and cut a sheet of card suitable for stamping to measure 4 1/2 by 6 1/2. To create my reveal hole, I used the jammy dodger die from the Goodies Galore stamp set. I put a small mark 1 inch down from the top of the card panel and lines up my die so that the dot was in line with the top of the die.
I secured this with low tack tape and die cut out. Then layered it over the template I have create me in the last step. Layered this so that you have a small equal gap on all 4 sides and pencil mark around the corners onto the template.
I stamped my image through the gap
Remove the top panel and rotate the circle by roughly 90 degrees. I chose to mask my stamped images. I did this by stamping the image onto low tack tape and fussy cutting it out
I reapplied my sheet of die cut white, lining it back up with the pencilled corners and stamped my next image
I did this until I had 4 images on my circle and coloured with my markers
I then stamped and coloured a selection of biscuits around the edge of my card front. Again I masked here to give the impression some were laid on top of others
I used a circle punch to punch a semi circle out of the card front. To figure out where I wanted this. I laid the card panel over the template and looked for where my circle was at its widest on the card front.
A sheet of patterned paper measuring 6 3/4 by 4 3/4 was cut. The card front was laid over this and the semi circle was pencilled around before being punched out.
The patterned paper was then lined up on the template and a pokey tool was used to make a tiny hole where the split pin would go.
Remove the pattern paper from the template and discard the template. Then add your coloured circle to the patterned using the holes already created and a split pin
My card base was created using a sheet of brown card measuring 10 by 7 inch and scored at 5 inch on the long side
The patterned paper was laid onto the card base and the semi circle was pencilled around before being punched.
The patterned paper was then glued onto the card base and the front panel adhered using foam tape
The sentiment was stamped in the momento ink and die cut out. I then drew around the die on brown card and fussy cut it out. The sentiment was adhered onto the brown card using foam tape and then glued onto the card panel
