Diamond Card

 I wanted something a little different for my Mum's card for the kids and so came up with the idea of cutting away the part which would normally be folded on a standard diamond fold card.

This fun design requires no dies and is quite easy to achieve. The stamps used are Daisy Mae Design and were free with Creative Stamping issue 145

Card Making Instructions

Start with a piece of card 10 1/2 by 8 inch. On the long edge score at 1 3/4, 3 1/2, 7 and 8 3/4 

With the long side still at the top put small pencil at 1, 2 1/2, 4 1/2 6, 8, 9 1/2. Both top and bottom.

Turn the card so the short edge is at the top at the mark at 3 inch and 5 inch.

Then carefully using a pencil draw lines onto the card. See the template below. The lines you need to draw are the dotted ones

Then cut the triangles away

This will give you the basic card base which can now be decorated. 

To Decorate you need 

3 x 3 1/4 x 7 3/4 inch 

On the short edge at 1 and 2 1/4 

On the long edge at 3 and 4 3/4 and again create pencil marks are below and then cut down the pencil marks

Once you have cut the corner off you need to fold one of these in half and cut down the fold line

You then need 3 x 3 by 7 1/2 on the short edge mark at 1 and 2 

On the long edge mark at 3 and 4 1/2 again join the marks and cut off the corners

You then need to again fold one of these and cut down the middle

You need one piece of card measuring 2 3/4 by 7 1/4 

On the short edge mark at 1 and 1 3/4 and on the long edge mark at 3 and 4 1/4. 

Again cut the lines you have just created

The final piece is 2 1/2 by 7 inch 

This is marked on the short edge at 1 and 1 1/2 

Long edge at 3 and 4 inch

The two half pieces for the side panels are glued down

The first layer in the centre panel is also glued down

The next 3 layers are applied using foam tape to create dimension

The image was stamped, coloured and fussy cut out and then applied using foam tape

The sentiment was stamped from the Creative Stamping Stamp Set and I added the Granny from the Purple Crafty Frog Sentiment Set.

This was all stamped onto a piece of white card and I rounded the corners and added nuvo drops.

The sentiment panel was then added using foam tape
