Diamond Z Fold Card

A real fun card that here that I can not wait to share with you. This fabulous diamond Z Fold card requires no speciality dies to make the card base and is a real show stopper. Fits in a standard 5 by 7 inch envelope so no need to have to make a special envelope either.

There is of course a video up on my YouTube Channel

Card Making Instructions

Begin with a sheet of card measuring 11 1/4 by 6 3/4 inch. On the short edge draw a pencil line at 2 1/4 and 4 1/2 inch down the length of the card

Turning the card so the long side is at the top score the top panel at
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5 1/4, 6 1/2
The Middle panel at 2, 3, 5, 6, 6 1/4, 7 1/2
The bottom panel at 3, 4, 6, 7, 7 1/4, 8 1/2

The dotted lines in the photo below are the score lines

In the largest panel on the left hand side of each row put a pencil mark in the middle. (1 inch ) From this dot to the opposite corner of the next but one score line, score.
Again the pink dotted lines are score marks

Cut down the pencil lines from 3 inch to 8 1/2 inch on the 2 1/4 inch pencil line and between 1 and 7 1/2 on the 4 1/2 inch pencil line.

The blue lines are the cut lines

Keep the score lines on your left and fold the vertical lines as valley, valley, valley, valley, mountain, valley. While the diagonal lines are all mountains

To create the decoration. I used the pink card and the embossing folder and cut 3 x 1 3/4 by 1 3/4 inch squares. These were marked with a pencil at 7/8th on each edge and the dots joined diagonally. The pencil lines were then cut

You also need 3 pieces which measure 1 by 2

To create the decorate panel of the left. I used a piece of copier paper to create a template. To do this I started with a sheet of paper measuring 2 3/4 by 6 1/2.
On the paper from the bottom I measured up 2 and 4 1/4 inch and made pencil lines. From the left on the top panel I measured 3/4 inch and drew and line and the middle panel 1 3/4 inch

I cut down the two vertical lines and used this as a template

I decorated the large panel using a mat and layer technique and so again made templates.

The Mat template was cut using a piece of paper measuring 4 1/2 and 6 1/2. From the bottom I measured 2 and 4 1/4 inch and drew lines horizontally. From the right I then measured 2 1/2 inch in the bottom row and 3 1/2 in the middle

The layer template was cut from a piece of paper measuring 4 1/4 by 6 1/4
I measured 2 1/4 and 4 1/2 inch up from the bottom and drew the pencil lines. In the bottom row I measured 2 1/4 and 3 1/4 from the right

These were glued on and decorated using the sentiment (Which was also embossed) and the stamps, which I coloured and fussy cut out
