Circle Impossible Card

This is one of those card designs that I kept looking at but I just could not figure out how to add my own stamp to it. They were all a rectangle or a square but then I thought how about I turn it into a circle!! No dies are required. I used a circle cutter but a compass and a pair of scissors would work just as well and are relatively cheap in comparison to some of our craft supplies

There is a video on my YouTube Channel

Card Making Instructions.

Begin with a sheet of card measuring 8 by 8 inch. Using a pencil draw a line across the middle horizontally at 4 inch.
On the top horizontal edge make pencil lines down to the centre line at 2 inch and 5 1/2 inch
On the bottom edge up to the centre line make pencil marks at 1, 3, 4 1/2 and 6 1/2 inch

See video for clarity

(sorry I can not get the computer to turn the photo my hands should be at the bottom)

Using a circle cutter or compass set to create a circle with a diameter of 8 inch cut out the circle

With the card positioned so that the 4 pencils lines are closest to you score between the first and second and then the third and forth pencil marks

Now cut all the vertical lines up to the centre line

Rub out the pencil marks

Use the circle cutter set to 7 3/4 inch and cut a semi circle in white card. Lay this under the full circle and lift the flaps, drawing around the card frame

Not cut this out and trim off any extra you are not happy with so that it is slightly smaller than the flap. This will form our mat for the pop up tabs.

See video for clarity with this part!
Holding the card base upto the first cut in your left hand, twist the middle section towards you

With your left hand hold both the left hand side and the middle side and twist the right hand side away from you.

The 2 flaps should now stand up. Adhere the white card onto these

Cut the patterned paper down to give a 7 3/4 by 7 3/4 square and lay under the circle. Draw around the gaps again

Once complete use the circle cutter set to 7 3/4 to cut out the circle

Now cut away the pencil marks. Don;t worry you will end up with 3 separate pieces. Again you will need to trim a little at a time until you are happy with the mat fit. I did try to create a template but I promise this was the easiest way I could find

Trim these until you are happy with the fit and then adhere on

To make the card stable you need a strip of card which is 1 inch by 6 1/4 with patterned on which is 3/4 by 6 inch. This is adhered using liquid glue across the 2 gapos at the back

A simple strip which measures 1 inch by 5 inch was cut for the front and a strip of white card measuring 3/4 by 4 3/4 was stamped with the sentiment and images and coloured in,
This was placed across the front gaps using foam tape

I stamped another sentiment on one of the white flaps

The images were stamped, coloured and fussy cut out before being adhered onto the card
