Braided Gatefold Card

 I have seen many braided tutorials over the years and love the effect that it gives and wanted to create it as the centre panel

There is of course a video on YouTube channel as this one may prove a little difficult to explain in words.

Card Making Instructions

I begin with a sheet of blue A4 which was trimmed along the long side to measure 11 inch. This was then scored at 2 3/4, 4 1/2, very lightly at 5 1/2, 61/2 and 8 1/4 inch

Along the slightly marked 5 1/2 score line using a pencil and ruler the card was marker every half inch

I created a template by cutting a square into a piece of scrap  card and marking at the 1 1/4 and 1/2 inch from the point. I also scored the square corner to corner. 

The point of the square was place onto the first pencil mark you have just created and the bottom corner lined up onto the same line. A pencil line was then draw to the 1 1/4 inch mark to create an upside down V. Move the template down to the next pencil mark and draw to the 1/2 inch mark. Repeat down the card

Using a craft knife and a ruler the lines were cut

Theses were then folded down and a secured with a tiny dot of glue

The panels were decorated. The pearl for the larger panels is 8 inch by 2 1/2 and the patterned paper is 7 3/4 by 2 1/4 . The smaller panels pearl measures 8 inch by 1 1/2 inch and the pattern 7 3/4 by 2 1/4

The bottom Triangle is trimmed off

The panels were folded as mountains next the braid and then as valleys on the next score line

The sentiment panel was cut using the torn oval dies and the sentiment cut using green glitter card and foam for dimension. This was adhered onto the braided panel

Nuvo drops were used on the braid

These were left to dry while we worked on the band. The band is A4 length cut to to 1 1/2 inch and scored at 2 7/8 and 8 5/8. The ends were glued together and the papers added. These measured 5 1/2 inch by 1 1/4 inch for the pearl and 5 1/4 by 1 for the pattern. A small torn oval was cut in the pearl and the happy birthday from the stamp set heat embossed. The bottle form the stamp set was also coloured and die cut. The panel was finished with glossy accents and Nuvo drops.

2 panels were also created for the front when it is in gatefold and these measure 8 inch by 1 3/4 inch for the pearl and 7 3/4 by 1 1/2 for the pattern.

Further images were stamped, coloured and die cut and used inside the card. These were finished using glossy accents
